Available from 2024, this scholarship is for a Wairarapa College student embarking on tertiary study for a career in a related agriculture or horticulture field. The Poto College House Scholarship has been funded by the winding up of the trust that was running the now closed hostel at Wairarapa College. This scholarship is not open for application – a student is recommended by the Wairarapa College Principal and Head of Agriculture.

This scholarship is for adults already in the workforce who are enrolled or intending to enrol in a course of study to change careers. The scholarship provides financial assistance toward course fees for recognised study and training programmes by an approved education provider in New Zealand.

Named for the Masterton-born, Nobel Prize-winning chemist, the MTLT Alan MacDiarmid Science Scholarship is awarded to Wairarapa’s top performing science or mathematics student who is going on to related tertiary study at a New Zealand university. Chemistry is a compulsory subject to be eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship is not open for application – students are recommended by the Wairarapa Secondary Principals’ Association.
