Property we make available for community use is valued in excess of $10 million and houses over a dozen local community organisations.
A diverse range of organisations such as Aratoi – Wairarapa Museum of Art & History, Autism Wairarapa, Masterton’s Foodbank and the local Judo & Ju Jitsu Academy all benefit from having rent-free premises provided by the Trust. This allows them to keep their community services affordable.
Our community property porfolio also includes green spaces in Masterton – the Millennium Reserve on the corner of Hillcrest and Pownall streets and the Lincoln Road mural garden provide a haven for locals to relax and enjoy.
We have a unique partnership with Wairarapa College through the provision of 13 hectares (32 acres) of farmland to assist the school with providing agricultural education and practical learning opportunities for their students.
While community properties don’t provide a financial return to the Trust, they deliver social, cultural, and educational dividends to Masterton.
