The Trust is pleased to present our annual report for the year ended 31 March 2021. The year brought unexpected challenges, but two years into our six-year strategy the Trust's finance and grants objectives are on target.
Like thousands of other students around New Zealand, Bianca Green of Masterton is, this week, sorting through mountains of gear she has hauled down to Dunedin and settling into university halls of residence.
From large national tenants, such as The Warehouse, to small family-owned businesses in the central business district, retailers make up a significant proportion of our tenants, many with medium to long-term leases.
We are continually upgrading and developing suitable properties, many within the central business district, to meet the needs of existing and new retail tenants. Large areas in and around Masterton’s CBD have been owned by the community, through MTLT, since the town began its development in the 1800s.
Through the Trust, the Masterton community owns these properties and benefits through grants from rental income returned year after year.
