Grants

Supporting Masterton

Our purpose, unchanged since 1871, is to benefit our owners, the people of Masterton, through grants for extraordinary educational, cultural and community activities.

Grants are available to educational institutions, community organisations and individuals who live or operate within the MTLT district.

Education is the main focus of the grants programme with educational institutions and individuals receiving assistance at all levels – early childhood, primary/intermediate, secondary and tertiary.

Other grants are provided for Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, community groups, Masterton District Council, special projects and rent concessions to community groups.

Grants, which are effectively ‘dividends’ to our community owners, are made possible through annual income from the MTLT’s property assets.  The remainder of income is reinvested to maintain and grow Trust assets for future generations.
